>> alan: a crime scene so complex it could take days to get any concrete answers. five people found dead under mysterious circumstances inside of a san francisco home. i'm alan wang. at this point police will not say if the case is a murder-suicide or if all five people were killed by someone who is still at large. investigators spent the spire -- entire day at the house, and tomas roman is there with the latest. >> reporter: this whole tragedy happened in this orange house on howth street. san francisco police aren't

saying whether the killer is one of the victims inside the house or whether that individual or individuals is still on the loose. what they are saying is that this family was specifically targeted. >> tape surrounds the house where five people were found murdered. the tape cloz other houses on both sides of the scene. police say investigators were forced to come back again today due to the scope of the murder scene and number of victims. >> too much for them to process in one day. >> reporter: investigators spent the entire day inside the home on howth street across from city college. the woman who safford the bldy scene said the victims were her parents, brother, and his wife. the scene was so gruesome a cause of death was not easily apparent. >> we have to work with the medical examiner's office, and rely on them for the cause of death before we can be absolutely sure. >> todd is a coworker and friend of the woman who opens the home

and is here today because he fears she is among the dead because she didn't come to work yesterday. >> crazy. always happy about everything. >> police say this was not a random act. the people or person in the home was specifically targeted. the reason is still unknown. >> there's not a murder on the loose we have concerns for the public safety of the residents. >> reporter: a neighbor says she knew very little of the people who lived here. >> i say hello. she answer back. i hear nothing. they were very, very -- >> reporter: again, police investigators aren't saying how any of the victims were killed. what they are saying in trying to placate the public, the public is not in danger as a result of this crime. reporting live, abc-7 news. >> alan: meanwhile, some friends of the family who set up a memorial at the home have identified the victim as

32-year-old vincent lei, his wife, mother and father, and his older sister. again, investigators say the family appears to have been targeted and the general public is not at risk. search teams and volunteers hit the streets in the largest evident to find missing teen sierra lamar. lisa amin gulezian is live morgan hill. >> sierra was on her way here when she disappeared, and now signs like this are up all over town but searchers are coming up empty. >> we're waiting for sierra, and we're -- we would like if you would hang some yellow ribbon. >> reporter: the neighbors want to do something, anything, to help. they're tired of feeling hundredless, and they're walking the streets, posting signs and tying ribbons. >> kind of dangerous out here. nobody saw her leave her house

or anything so i want to come together and make sure nothing like this will happen. >> everything changed the moment sierra disappeared a week ago friday. here's what investigators know. sierra was supposed to have caught her bus to school at 7:25 friday morning. her cell phone was found on saturday 20 to 30 feet off the road away from the school bus. on sunday search teams found her purse with clothes inside, even further away. today, teams searched the same field again. just in case. >> everytime you do a search like this, it's about probabilities. you can never be entirely certain. so, sometimes you want to take more than one look at something to gain more confidence that there's nothing there to be found. >> reporter: today's search is the largest so far. more than 90 professional search and rescue teams from four counties are looking for sierra in a 12-mile radius of her home,

checking rural and urban areas, looking for clues, evidence, thing that might help. >> if we can get a lead in the next 24 hours, it might change everything. everything departments on the operation. >> that's what sierra's friends and families are hoping for. they released this video of the 15-year-old during happier times. she is on the left, on top of the pyramid during a cheerleading competition in december. sierra's family got support from michelle le's family. they met for several hours. michelle lewas the bay area measuring student who disappeared last may and her powd was found in september. live in morgan hill, lisa amin gulezian, abc-7 news. >> alan: a vigil will be held for sierra lamar tomorrow evening at 6:00 p.m. at the crossroads christian center at 145 wright avenue in morgan hill. there's another search going on. state senator lelandee -- leland

yee joined a search for missing marine joseph mchenry. he was reported missing on march 5th. at least 20 of his marine buddies joined in. his car was founder in a golf course. a backpack believed to be his was found on a near beach. rain has returned to the bay area. making for slick driving conditions. the california highway patrol says they responded to numerous fend kerr -- fender benders today, but no major disruptions on the freeways. parts of the santa cruz mountains had the heaviest downpours. leigh glaser has been tracking the storm. are we going to get a break from the rain? >> leigh: we're not. you can get a sense of what's going on. live doppler 7hd showing you the showers, just a band moving from south to north. and here's what we call training. there's not a big break in there. going to take time for the cold front to move across the bay

the victim's witnessed the attack and led police to the suspect. after tracking vazquez to this home, s.w.a.t. members waited him out for several hours and entered the home and found him hiding in this bedroom. he is in the opt hospital recovering from dog bytes. >> a deadly shooting that has caused a nationwide debate over race and justice. today, florida lawmaker comes out against a man claiming self-defense in this deadly shooting on an african-american teenager. >> voters in louisiana make their pit and the g.o.p. front runner is not expected to

>> alan: protesters nationwide are calling for justice in the trayvon martin case. the teenager in florida who was shot to death by a neighborhood crime watch volunteer. zimmerman is in hiding, saying he is receiving death threats. he claims he was acting under the florida stand your ground law. >> in the case, this doesn't apply. there's nothing in this statute that provides you the authority to pursue and to confront people on the street. >> alan: a justice department investigation is already underway and a grand jury will discuss the case next month. tomorrow morning in oakland, the allen temple baptist church is inviting families to wear hoodies in trayvon's memory. in louisiana, voters have less than an hour to past their ball -- cast their ballots from

leigh glaser -- >> leigh: i know. we have been talking about this today. it's been kind of that elusive rain. not terribly heavy, the -- but just enough you need the windshield wipers and also it just keeps on coming down. not a lot of end in sight with this system as it slowly churns across the bay area. this is the 24 hour totals, and not a heavy rainmaker. a little over a half an inch in half moon bay. otherwise, seeing about a quarter inch, maybe a little more. and a little more as we head through the overnight hours. current temperatures, one thing you can say about today is it is cool. temperatures only in the 40s across much of today. 47 right now in san francisco. 48 in antioch, and san jose, 46 degrees. here's a look at the highlights. we'll continue with periods of rain overnight. rain tomorrow morning.

with afternoon hours. we may get a little break. we get a break on monday, and then a more active rain pattern will set up tuesday and wednesday. live doppler 7 hd showing you just a stream or just a huge amount of moisture slowly rotating from south to north over the bay area. the back end of the front well off the coast. some of the heaviest rain starting to move into the milpitas area. some moderate rain moved through your area. los gatos, towards campbell, all of this is moving from south to north. so san jose will see this batch move in spend the heads back towards milpitas and then fremont and union city. so you can get a sense how it's moving. here's the frontal system, and it is just slow as molasses. you can look al -- at all this

moisture. this is going to drive to the bay area. the back end of the front is here, and we have the low here, and this is going to move in here and will do so overnight tonight and tomorrow morning. here's a look at the timing. 5:00 this evening, you can see just wave after wave of moisture continues to feed inch there's midnight. and then even tomorrow morning, 3:00 a.m., 4:00, 5:00, early tee times, forget about it. not going to have it. maybe late in the day. 10:00 a.m. on sunday. and then the afternoon hours when the front will slowly start to back off towards the east and we'll start to see a little partial clearing by late tomorrow afternoon. lows tonight, upper 30s to near 40 degrees in the north bay. the rest of us in the 40s, and snow levels getting down. from 3,000 to 4,000 feet overnight tonight. here's the highs for tomorrow. 50s across much of the bay area. the wind will kick out, and we do get a dry day on monday brave
